What You’re Wearing at Home: Iso-Style

The way we can manipulate our psyche is marvellous. For many, looking your best can have a positive effect on mood and while staying home during these uncertain times, putting a little effort in can improve motivation to get going and remain involved in daily life. This doesn’t mean we have to go all out and add a full face of makeup and heels. Unless you’re joining in on these funny isolation memes and dressing up to take out the bins. But it’s about feeling good about yourself while remaining comfortable and warm.

We asked members of our over 50’s fashion chat group to share their iso-style with us. We are pleased to see a great variety of looks and ways to be comfy but stylish at home. Here are our lovely loungewear extraordinaires!

Belinda

While home-staying I still desire to look and feel fresh as well as being comfy! Natural fibers and fabrics are a non- negotiable, particularly at these times of wearing the same outfit all day (and sometimes even , all week!!) My “go to” pants and top are made from a silky smooth, eucalyptus leaf fabric and the cardigan from a superior quality, European knit. All La Luna lifestyle garments are fair trade as they are produced by consortiums of artisans that assist in empowering women.

Whether I am making a G&T for happy hour or doing the vaccuming I wear a black CADARRA. I can transform my “dress” into over 30 different outfits including tops, pants a skirt and a jumpsuit. It’s a stretch fabric so best of all it’s comfortable for endless days around the house, I can layer it up or keep it cool as it’s still quite warm up north.

SCC Editor Rebecca here getting in on the fun. I go for a walk in the morning and by time I cool down I am freezing in my house so I end up with a puffer jacket on. I love this one from Ice Breaker. It’s a little dose of colour (it’s deep sage) and unbelievably warm.
