The best kind of vintage shopping

Tonight we begin sharing a series of looks from a store like no other we’ve visited before, The Old New. The store sells second-hand clothing but what is different is that you can also donate your clothes and shop using a credit. Fabulous idea!

The brains behind this great business, Amanda is passionate about ethical fashion and has created a space that has become somewhat of a social drawcard in her hometown of Wentworthville. Amanda is also very wise in that she is selective in the garments she accepts (brand names only that must be in perfect condition) to keep the standard high.

We stopped by to raid Amanda’s (very beautifully designed) boutique and have a dress-up session. All clothing is available to buy online and as you will see, there are some gorgeous designer pieces at a fraction of the retail cost. It never ceases to amaze us how true the expression “one person’s trash is another person’s treasure” really is. We really love this initiative and it will only thrive the more people utilise it. Do you have something similar nearby?

BIG thanks to Vivienne and Lynne for kindly modelling the looks for us. First look is for the leopard lovers amongst us… and we know there are many! It’s a classic that is always in vouge so we have to apologise to Amanda when we say, never let go of them!
