TVSN Beauty must-have: Retreatment Botanics Kakadu Vitamin C

Born from a desire to nurture, calm and still the mind and body, Retreatment Botanics skincare has a sharp focus on organic Australian ingredients that are full of natural Aussie goodness- not unlike the brand’s founder, Olivia Newton-John.

At the heart of the lineup of good-for-you-and-the-soul skincare is their Kakadu Vitamin C serum. We here at SCC love the power of a vitamin C for brightening and if you’re wondering about serum use in general, then yes, you still need a moisturiser. A serum will usually have one goal, in the case of Vitamin C, it’s brightening or fighting pigmentation and your regular moisturiser is still required. This particular formulation is made up of Kakadu plum (famous for having the highest level of Vitamin C of any fruit) finger limes (containing two power players, Vit C and E) and the kicker, hyaluronic acid. The word ‘acid’ sounds harsh but this one is actually a beaut ingredient, hyaluronic acid is like you drank all that water you promised yourself you would and delivers super-hydrating plumpness.

So this one serum lessens pigmentation, brightens and smooths texture with our favourite active, Vitamin C. Vitamin E plays a nurturing role by protecting the skin with antioxidants, combined with hydrating hyaluronic and you’ve got yourself one powerful product that is unbelievably au naturale!

If you’re just breaking into actives this is a nice way to dip your toe in the water with a gentle formulation derived from local ingredients. It feels appropriate that Olivia Newton-John would release such a nurturing range of skincare. Available via TVSN, we highly recommend you check out the entire collection and if you’re really lucky, the spa which inspired Retreatment Botanics too, Gaia Retreat & Spa – you will become relaxed just googling in.
