Maybe you have a special luncheon coming up or headed to a matinee? A dress may feel too formal and you crave the comfort of pants. Make a beautiful statement with these printed wrap pants. We’ve styled them with a loose swing top for an ultra-relaxed look but if the mood takes you, loosely tuck in a top to show off the tie waist. Just be sure not to team them with a long top as the layered style of the pants will create too much bulk. Also, we’ve used the tried and tested styling trick here of adding a top that picks up on a tone in the print of the pant. This method always results in a very put together outfit.
Vivienne wearing Grace Hill linen swing top $89.99 // Grace Hill wrap pants $49 // Slide sandals $55 all from EziBuy and pictured with a little photobomber granddaughter, Mae wearing Kmart dress and Best & Less sneakers 🙂
Looking for a kaftan that is chic enough to walk from the beach to the bar? Look no further. This kaftan has a good density so you don’t have to worry about it being too sheer if you venture from the pool. The stripes are true stitching, not just a screen print. And this navy and white combo is straight from the style guide, ‘How to Nail Resortwear 101’. So if you’re looking for clothes that are more elevated than most beachwear than keep it in the nautical family and pay attention to the quality of the fabric.
It’s no secret that we love to dress tonally. A top and pant don’t need to be the exact same tone but if they’re close in colour it gives a seamless appearance to your outfit. It’s also great if you’re working on a capsule wardrobe – just pick your favourite hue and build from there by piecing in similar tones and choose one neutral that works back with all.
For that event where it’s not dressy but you still want to look nice, we can always rely on our white pants and a rich, printed top. Bonus if the top has lovely pintuck detailing and jewelled collars as it’s like built-in accessories. Don’t forget when buying online to pay attention to fabrications to asses if the top is sheer and if you need a camisole. Good news, this top comes with one!
Whether your mother of the bride/groom or a wedding guest this outfit can tick all the style boxes. While the old rule about no black at a wedding doesn’t really apply anymore, navy is a popular colour choice as its much softer yet just as wearable as black. We doubled up and paired the deep navy lace with more lace that has an intricate design- great for an autumn or summer event. Personally, we feel that the outer layer is just as important as the dress when it comes to formal attire. No point having a fab frock with a sloppy jacket! Keep the coat well fitted in the shoulders and an easy way to chose a more sleek jacket is to go for a collarless style.
