There is nothing like the feeling when you discover a product that is just as good as a luxury market item but a fraction of the cost. And we all know, it’s your moral duty to tell your girlfriends all about the bargain upon your discovery. Well, that’s what we’re doing today! Smart. Casual. Classic. and Beauty Over 40 editors spill the beans on two of our favourite super cheap products that are just as good as the high-end competitors! Between Rebecca and Lara, there aren’t many products they haven’t tried. So you can be sure they know how to compare quality at close to cost price versus simply paying for a brand name.
Beauty Over 40 Editor, Lara’s BEAUTY BARGAIN is: Nivea Q10 Power Night Cream for Mature Skin
Night Creams are rich and thick – designed to replenish our skin while we sleep, during skin’s natural regeneration cycle, for maximum benefit. While many Night Creams have a price tag to match their luxe, rich consistency, one of the best I’ve used does not. Nivea Q10 Power Night Cream for Mature Skin contains skin identical CoQ10, which works in harmony with your skin to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and Argan Oil to nourish and hydrate dry skin. The lighter weight, yet richly nourishing cream is specially formulated for skin over 60, in reality, due to our harsh climate, Australian women 50+ will benefit from this cream. I use the cream every night, and my skin is super soft and dewy smooth each morning. The cream is non-greasy, and absorbs really quickly (so nothing is left on my pillow in the morning). The Night Cream says it hydrates for up to 24 hours, and although I cleanse and moisturise with a Day Cream each morning, I have tested this out, and have found it did keep my skin hydrated for a full 24 hours. If you are after a Night Cream for mature skin, aimed at hydration, improving skin resilience, and visible wrinkle reduction, this one is a must!

Smart. Casual. Classic Editor, Rebecca’s BEAUTY BARGAIN is: Woolworth brand, MCoBeauty Fibre Brow Gel
I’m a stickler for good brows. Not those heavy caterpillar-looking brows but defined, shaped brows that play an important role in looking fresh. If I am not wearing a full face of makeup the two small things that make a difference for me personally is a little colour in my cheeks and plumped brows that magically make me feel more awake. I’ve discovered that a light fibre gel brush is the best way to achieve the desired “light-but-defined” look that I aim for and boy was I pleased to discover that Woolworths brand, MCoBeauty is the perfect consistency at the best cost! Their Fibre Brow Gel doesn’t make your hairs too stiff but does the job of lightly colouring each follicle and gently keeping them in place after a little pre-comb. I love this brand and this particular product was closely seconded by their Extend Lash Mascara. If you like the appearance of fuller, natural-looking brows, I can’t reccomend this enough.
